The making of Shiva I and II

Since childhood, Shiva has always intrigued me. Shiva has a mysticism that just cannot be unravelled. Be it his third eye on his forehead or the snake Vasuki around his neck; the adorning crescent moon in his hair or the holy river Ganga flowing from his matted hair; the trishula as his weapon or the damaru as his musical instrument.
But the most powerful of all images for me is 'Shiva the dancer' also called Nataraja. They say in hindu mythology, that when evil becomes so strong and takes hold of the universe then Nataraja dances to destroy the universe, urging Lord Brahma, the creator, to create a new universe…enthralling!
I have been trying to demystify Shiva in sketches….
